Its lovely short verse... I enjoyed it. The idea of shutting your eyes is good but it does not work for me at all.. the pain still lingers in the heart...

Yes, we'll rather not be bothered with those putting brakes on us. We'll rather level our thoughts with those who can share ideas with us! Excellent thoughts!
Clever poem... it's hard to be genuine but it's hard to be fake... and you can end up in a kind of limbo. There's hope though. And that ignorance and pretense won't last forever. :] xx
Some time that is not so easy to do but you are right it is better to close our eyes and pretend we are well but inside we are not http://gatelesspassage.com/2011/10/03/memories-and-photographs-of-you/
Hi, Emanita01 here. This is awesome, succinct and powerful! That does it I hereby pass on RoughWaterJohn's challnge, because I enjoy your writing so much :-)

Hello.
ReplyDeleteI guess nobody's happy.
Such a sad state to be in.
Thanks for sharing.

Well put!
ReplyDeleteVery nicely done! I enjoyed it. Blessings, Terri
ReplyDeleteI procrastinate but I rarely ignore. Your poem is very well written.
ReplyDeleteI love the shape of this poem, and I really like this phrase, "we shut our eyes to the sorrow of ignorance..." So much easier than doing the work.
ReplyDeleteNamaste...........cj
is it easier? yes, i would agree. pretend being well nails it.
ReplyDeleteWe become what we perceive ourselves to be. Yes, it is much better. xoXox

So true. That's always the expected answer to "how are you?" It's the rare soul who really wants to know.

Nice words very well written :)
ReplyDeleteWow, that really packed a punch. It was visually and poetically beautiful.
ReplyDeleteShort but so full of impact
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work.
ReplyDeleteI really liked how you conserved your words, but still said so much.
Incredible poem and Happy Birthday!

Well said. I like how the structure of the piece appears to be a closed eye.
ReplyDeleteA simple, yet incredibly satisfying poem.

Love the shape. Message well conveyed.
ReplyDeleteA blogger recently wrote that the most-told lie is the word: "FINE"! As the answer to "How are you?"
ReplyDeleteReleasing the sorrow and closing my eyes to know it has been let go off has worked for me.
ReplyDeleteI love your poem and the picture it paints.
