The Show Is On

At this October 19th's night,
Join me in the pool of light,
The show is on,
Don’t let strangers go slouch until dawn,
Time to be cleansed by an inviting song,
Time to let screwed moments down,
Spin some tales from cracked backyard,
Revolution never bites on granite,
From wasted ember,
In cheap ashes,
Desperation evaporates,
Words kiss the paper,
Talent shall not breach,
Sooner or later,
I shall hear your speech.

  1. I must come to thank you for your kind words about my poetic tribute to Steve Jobs.
Pleasantly, I find a 'show' of your own which brilliantly compels the 'light' from escaping from words entering into beautiful lines like:
"Time to be cleansed by an inviting song,
Time to let screwed moments down,
Spin some tales from cracked backyard,
    Revolution never bites on granite..."
I'm glad to have read your poem.
    Very striking!

  14. Freddom comes at a high price sometimes and freedom to even write sometimes has to be fought for too.
    Very deep and meaningful.

  15. Nice piece. Patience pays off in the end, a revelation seems to be in the cards. Nice. At least that's how I read it, which I'm sure there are other ways as well. Typifies for me what I love in Poetry- One piece, typically so many interpretations possible. Thanks

  30. We are digging deep here, aren't we!
    I love your line,
Time to let screwed moments down.
Sometimes it takes all of this poem's suggestions and more to get a speech ready. Other times one could almost ad lib it.
Thank you for reading my 'Paper Doll' poem and leaving your nice comment.
