Sunday Prompts: Spring, Rain, Emotions, Life

Soul-splashed, doubts on the window,
Trees’ wondrous rhythm, I curl inside
a conch, holding my breath:
Where now?
Who now?
When now?
Whispering to my ears, are rain-doodling,
Drips of waterspouts at the heart of things,
Hairline-drizzle,
Don’t disguise the comfort you crave,
How can you feel the gain
When you are the one who’s lost?
Not really make sense
beyond the sporadic reminders of reality,
Those raindrops of tears,
A colorless tribe to the cause of living,
How silently you have surveyed it:
The tactile and rough consciousness,
Terminated,
Nobody wants to think it twice,
While refracted emotions, shimmering
like an aura around your nose,
with the thought of obliteration itself,
snuffed out,
The opening of the window,
A shift in everything,
And the spring rain.

  10. Some poems are intensely personal; and this one, with its emotional specificities, feels similarly intense.

  13. Oddly enough, I felt a sense of calm throughout your poem, even though you talked about doubt in the beginning. The opening of the window seems hopeful to me. I hope it is. :) A beautiful piece.
