It's 3 am,
Her phone rings,
Home alone,
She decides to ignore,
"Bang!"
Someone is knocking at the door,
She couldn't ignore any more;
She gets up,
trying to turn on the light,
A pair of hands grab her thigh,
Hugging her...
She feels like screaming,
The hands pull her closer,
"Surprise!"
Says her hubby,
beaming.
*****
Came home Drunk Again eh?
ReplyDeleteLoved your 55 Morning.
Thanks for playing, and have a Kick Ass Week-End
not sure if that is a good surprise or bad...
ReplyDelete:) 'surprise' connotes it was pleasant i presume?
ReplyDeletecool imagery!
Surprises can well result in heart failures, it seemed so! Great verse!
ReplyDeleteHank
I love surprises. Though I'm not sure if I'll feel the same way if I get them at 3:00 a.m. :)
ReplyDeleteOooh, that is a clincher- thanks!
ReplyDeleteNice 55 - complete with the happy ending (perhaps in more ways than one!)
ReplyDeleteInteresting to read the different responses to what the continuing story after your ending might have been. Everyone has a vivid imagination.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if I would be happy or freaked especially as it's the middle of the night and being grabbed too!
ReplyDeleteYikes.
Great 55!
Now this is a "wow", I wouldn't know whether to smack him or kiss him!! xo
ReplyDeleteThinks:- was hubby very short that he hugged her at thigh level? LOL
ReplyDeleteI'm in troubler here! Very high-up light switch or very vertically challenged husband. Or is husband merely a drunken boor?
ReplyDeleteIt is a piece of writing,
ReplyDeletea fiction.
when I write it, I have this in mind:
Hubby comes home from international traveling, thus the time is late.
That could be a dangerous surprise!
ReplyDeleteOh, he is soooo dead!
ReplyDeleteIs she happy about this surprise?
ReplyDeleteHopefully, a pleasant surprise.
ReplyDeletethis is where firearm ownership would get me and the hubby into trouble...by mistake!
ReplyDeleteNow, I would consider a "surprise" that could lead to a heart attack as being a really poor idea. Boo-hiss on that hubby. But hurray for your 55.
ReplyDeleteYes, hopefully a pleasant surprise ...
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by,
Lola:)
A nice surprise, but still a heart attack! My hubcap likes to do that....startle the daylights out of me. I think he likes to see me jump. Pisses me off. Good 55!!!
ReplyDeletewhere you in the kitchen? this is usually the place I get groped expectantly
ReplyDeleteGood, fast-read write.
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute!
