Gently, snowflakes float and touch the ground,
Covering the earth with a white blanket,
Cold, heartfelt, and profound,
Snowballs roll down the hill,
Snowmen pop up and glow,
Life that’s in hibernation inhale the chill
While bare tree branches soak December blow,
Nights become long
With day time sings a holiday song,
Time to let the year’s burdens be gone
and make corrections to incidents that done wrong!
Until spring rain gives life to everything,
Everyone has to pay attention to snow days and sing.
Love the idea of snowmen popping up and growing. K.

ReplyDeleteHi Morning,
ReplyDeleteOverall, this is both a very festive and a quietly reflective piece-- a successful blending of the two. The lines that pop out most for me, like your snowmen:
"Snowmen pop up and glow,
Life that’s in hibernation inhale the chill
While bare tree branches soak December blow".
Such lively imagery and language!
I also really like the line, "With day time sings a holiday song." A very interesting take on things, recognizing the day for its short but cheerful presence. (Interesting to me, because I do most of my holiday singing at night).
Happy New Year to you!
