A Love Test Is Tricky (Romance In Theme Thursday)
Academic tests are purposeful,
Medical tests are powerful,
Love tests are playful.
.
Tests are no fun
Unless you are well done.
You cry when you have to retry to score high.
.
It's mid-December,
Academic semester is about to be over,
Final exams may have kept you busy, remember.
.
A love test is tricky
If you miss the chance to prove yourself.
You may loss the one you love in case your lover is picky.
.
Think 4 yourself,
If a guy truly loves you,
He shall respect what you do.
.
You may make mistakes,
You may desire something costly,
Pass or fail, maintain your own custody.

ReplyDeleteI agree sound advice. If you want to take a love test, better be ready for the consequences.
ReplyDeleteTruly nice poem.
Take a love test? I guess I passed mine, I'm still with him 53 years later. Tomorrow, Dec. 13, 1957, was our first date.
ReplyDeleteTests are not for fun,
ReplyDeleteat least not for everyone,
And what kind of language,
will wwe be tested in?
Are there 5 romance languages
or maybe 10?
Is there some way I can study,
With my favorite study buddy?
I may not fit in this society,
I think I'm having test anxiety.
I really like your final line. There's a lot of wisdom there!
ReplyDeleteWonderful!

Ahh but love's tests are painful too
ReplyDeleteYou have a most interesting outlook on life, Jingle! Very focused and up-beat. Your love of life shows in your poetry.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you too. :))
Jingle, I loved the idea of a test for love. Of course, it's always been there - the lover looking out of the corner of his eye for some flaw, whether physical or character-based. And I, too, confess to testing former loves, in part because of being a single mom of a girl child. (Wanted DeNiro to grill all potential boyfriends!)
ReplyDeleteThe melding of the image, the other types of tests, and the final "stick to your guns, girls" comment. All great stuff, loved it!

I loved the test for love. The theme was good anyway and the way you expressed yourself was lovely Jingle.
ReplyDeleteI've not had time to read you're blog - (and might not 'til next year)

Yes, "maintain your own custody". I like that! ;)
