Omitting the World

Remembering the fearful past,
Lost in the face of relationships,
I place a myriad of me inside a bubble,
Swimming in circles.
I church myself up
with flying elephants,
counting stars that don't exist,
I pretend that
I'm adventuring a romance
with concrete signs of promises,
while I know that
no real solutions to my problems,
...
Alone with my thoughts,
I compose my cobbled passion in music,
Singing it in my poetry.

  3. "counting stars that don't exist"

Why is it, I wonder, that we place such impossible demands on ourselves, especially when life is battering us?

  10. I haven't seen a flying elephant since Dumbo.

I like the verb use of nouns -- churched -- adventured -- good poem.

  12. You have done well with this word prompt, good poetess. I see Tess'
    presence in the elephant.

You remind me of a certain German theologian who wrote though I paraphrase liberally that if God refuses to answer prayer, then fire Him and get a New God Who does.

This relationship and dialogue with God really is the whole thing. Otherwise in the long haul there is not much to recommend Him.

  61. For those of us who have been there and done that, it is much easier to unwind after enjoying a nice show or entertainment along similar lines. It could be something as simple as taking in a movie that you might have wanted to see but never find the time to at Pusong Ligaw. A vacation is your time to rest and relax, make the most of it.
