Five little turkeys
standing at the door,
One waddled off, and then there were four.
One waddled off, and then there were four.
Four little
turkeys sitting near a tree,
One waddled off, and then there were three.
One waddled off, and then there were three.
Three little
turkeys with nothing to do,
One waddled off, and then there were two.
One waddled off, and then there were two.
Two little
turkeys in the morning sun,
One waddled off, and then there was one.
One waddled off, and then there was one.
One little
turkey better run away,
For soon it will be Thanksgiving Day.
For soon it will be Thanksgiving Day.
Happy Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteeat some turkey soon.
Have a lovely Sunday Catie, your witty poem sure put a smile on my face; happy you dropped in at my blog
ReplyDeletemuch love...
More to this....Truth in words. Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteSeems like a very apt rhyme for the season.
ReplyDeleteHa.. I think the smart turkeys keep away these day..
ReplyDeleteHa! If I were a turkey I would run away too!
ReplyDeleteFun read. :)
ReplyDeleteI was happy to read the poem which made me smile, in the midst of the photos of the politicians!!!!!
ReplyDeletehahaha! what a lovely fun read.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed! :)
a good one & timely..:)
ReplyDeleteOh, those gobble-gobbles! :) I liked this - the rhythm and the deeper meaning tucked inside. Us Canadians had our Thanksgiving last month...so our turkeys are safe for another few weeks before the holidays arrive. :)
ReplyDeletehaha! nicely played metaphor :)
ReplyDeleteYour words made me smile :) Very nice!
ReplyDeleteHaha...I'd add 'one turkey crossed the road...and I'm waiting to continue on my way' ~ reality story...smiles
ReplyDeleteChuckles! The turkeys had better make a quick exit. Thanksgiving discriminates and turkeys are vulnerable! Nice lines Catie!
